Home Ec: Early Stages

So Home Ec got under way this past Tuesday!
I am taking it slow!
As you know sewing has been a mini nightmare for me the past few years.
I say mini cause every so often I would pull it out and after two hours throw my hands up in defeat over the fact that I could not properly thread the machine!
But with the help of Mr. Potts we figured it out and I have successfully sewn a few straight stitches.
I am also getting comfortable with washing, ironing and cutting my fabric.
I am working with a full vintage sheet and manipulating all that fabric on the cutting table is a trying task.
Actually all of this feels foreign to me but I am not going to give up.
As newbie as I am I have done a lot just this week.

Sewed a straight line for the first time!
Washed and ironed fabric for the first time!
And trimmed my big sheet and cut one 18x18 inch square! (that took me several hours)

I practiced some pinning and tonight I am gonna make me at least one napkin!!
Slowly but surely I am gonna do this!
