In my book toys are essential to childhood. I love to choose the toys that my children will engage with on a daily basis. Just musts for me....
one) long-lasting
two) imagination sparking
three) enriching
* to note long-lasting does not apply to purely delightful moments of childhood that are fleeting yet big in the grand scheme of things.....
such as bubbles, paper dolls and mudpies.
that about sums it up i guess.
so when the new year rolled around I wanted to capture a few images that focused on our favorite playthings of the moment.
Oh sweet long Saturday of January when Molly was so busily entertained by the McCall's.
Legos capture my children's minds for what seems like hours some afternoons. I love to witness them thinking, imagining and producing.
The girls! From left to right Nelli, Carter and Lili! My grandmother sent Carter to Molly when she was a baby and its really her first real doll. I am happy she has found a spot among Molly'ssisterhood of girls.
I love this picture! We truly had a delightful afternoon playing a game Gideon built for us. There were several holes we could roll the marble in while trying to knock over the most pins. Quite entertaining!!
